The city says upgrades to the 99 Avenue bridge between 102 and 105 Streets will start Monday.

The existing slab over the deck will be replaced. The expansion joints at each end of the bridge will also be replaced.

Cracked concrete will be repaired as will the retaining walls at either end of the bridge.

City Hall says traffic will go down to one lane with detours in place.

Pedestrians will be redirected and the trail under the bridge will be closed too.

The anticipated completion date is the first week of August, but will depend on the weather over the coming months.
